Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) supports us to accept our thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or avoiding them, while committing to actions aligned with our values. Psychological suffering stems from attempts to control or escape difficult experiences (resisting what is), which can lead to a cycle of avoidance and distress. Through mindfulness practices and cognitive defusion techniques (similar to CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT helps us observe our thoughts and emotions without becoming entangled in them, empowering us to focus on what truly matters (our values), guiding us to take meaningful actions even in the face of challenges.Attachment Therapy
Attachment styles, developed in early childhood through interactions with caregivers, significantly impact how we form and maintain relationships. There are four primary attachment styles: secure, anxious-preoccupied, avoidant-dismissive, and fearful-avoidant/disorganized. Securely attachment creates healthy, stable relationships, feeling comfortable with both intimacy and independence. Insecure attachment styles—anxious, avoidant, or fearful/disorganized—may struggle with past developmental traumas (especially those that are unconscious) and how that impacts trust, intimacy, and emotional regulation, leading to challenges in forming stable and fulfilling relationships. Understanding one's attachment style can provide valuable insights into relational patterns and guide personal growth and healing in relationships. By creating a safe and nurturing environment in the therapeutic process we explore attachment experiences, understand how these experiences influence current behaviours and relationships, and work towards developing more secure attachment patterns.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)This therapy combines mindfulness practices with cognitive behavioural techniques to support individuals in managing stress, anxiety, and depression. By cultivating present-moment awareness, MBCT helps us observe thoughts and emotions without judgment, thus shifting disempowering thought patterns. Holistic Therapy
